Recognize the Source of Your Suffering and Begin to Find Balance in Your Life
This lecture was recorded Sunday, June 5, 2016 in Columbia Station, Ohio.
Yogi Amrit Desai explains how ancient wisdom provides the map to remove self-caused suffering. The source of suffering is misperceived reality. We see through the medium of the reactive perceiver, our ego mind that continuously strives for that which is likes and avoids that which is dislikes.
When we do that, we are not seeing what is as it actually is and are living in reaction to our past, rather than in response to what is present. We live our lives labeling things as positive and negative; good and evil – based on our memories. When the intention is set to be lead from the unreal to the real, we can begin to realize that self-caused suffering is being alleviated.
Relationships to everything and everyone will begin to change because relationship with the past is changing. In the end, we must remove our own suffering. Others can provide a map, but we must do the traveling.
